The BRC was formed in the fall of 1985 by Living Colour guitarist Vernon Reid, artist rep Konda Mason and the late Village Voice writer, musician Greg Tate.

    Cheers for the site, good to stay sussed. Gotta say one of the greatest gigs I’ve been to was when Gil-Scott took the punters at the Lounge in Melbourne, Australia to some kind of place beyond anywhere we’d been – totally transcendent. Great to see such a tribute to him going on. Keep it real.
